Aluminum Pergola in Huntington Beach
Huntington Beach, California — Residential Patio Cover Project
Project Overview
For this Huntington Beach property, the homeowners wanted a true outdoor dining room that works from sunny afternoons through breezy coastal nights—without constant upkeep. The solution had to sit on an existing raised wood deck, protect furniture from drizzle, and feel cozy after sunset.

Our Solution
We designed and installed a freestanding aluminum pergola custom‑fit to the deck footprint and aligned with the home’s traffic flow. The motorized louvered roof delivers open‑sky ventilation when tilted and tight weather protection when closed. To extend evening use, we integrated continuous perimeter LED lighting, creating a clean glow line around the ceiling.
Highlights
Powder‑coated aluminum frame (charcoal) — coastal‑grade finish and corrosion‑resistant fasteners for ocean air
Motorized louvers — precise sun control; seal for marine‑layer sprinkles
Perimeter LED strip — warm, dimmable light for dinners and game nights
Deck‑mount engineering — posts tied into the joist structure with blocking for stability
Open plan — room for a full dining table and a separate conversation set
Decorator‑friendly — space for potted plants and soft drapery panels without blocking airflow

| Result The pergola transformed the deck into a year‑round outdoor living room: shade at midday, glow at dusk, and dependable cover when the weather shifts. Shadow lines from the louvers add texture by day, while the LED ribbon frames intimate evenings with friends. Explore more completed pergola projects to compare other layouts and roof configurations.
