California Pergola Systems Warranty

CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS Limited WarrantyThis Limited Warranty, issued exclusively by CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS, covers defects in materials and workmanship for new products manufactured or supplied by CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS.

This Limited Warranty applies to the original purchaser and may be transferred to subsequent owners in accordance with the procedures described in this document. Coverage applies only to products purchased directly from CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS or from an authorized dealer of CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS.

All rights and obligations are governed by the limitations, exclusions, and conditions set forth below.

Warranty Periods and Scope of Coverage

1) Structural ElementsLouvers, beams, gutters, posts, and other load-bearing components are warranted for fifteen (15) years from the date of installation against defects in materials or workmanship under normal use and proper maintenance.

2) Electrostatic Powder CoatingThe powder coating applied to aluminum panels and all structural supports is warranted not to chip, peel, or blister for fifteen (15) years from the date of installation under typical outdoor conditions. This coverage follows any limitations or exclusions in the coating manufacturer’s own warranty. In high-acidity or corrosive environments—such as port facilities, seaside locations, or areas with chemical vapors that accelerate coating degradation—the warranty period for the powder coating is ten (10) years. Coverage is limited to defects in materials or workmanship assuming normal use and maintenance.

3) Electrical ComponentsControl units:

  • 2 years
  • Motors: 5 years
  • LED elements, cabling, and lighting panels: 2 years
  • This coverage applies to defects in materials or workmanship under standard use and service.

4) Fabric ComponentsAll fabric elements are warranted for 5 years from the date of installation against defects in materials or workmanship, assuming normal use and proper care.

5) Mechanical and Moving PartsAll mechanical and moving parts are warranted for 5 years from the date of installation against defects in materials or workmanship, assuming normal use and proper care. To maintain this coverage

  • Approximately six (6) months after installation, CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS will, upon the customer’s request, perform an inspection and any required maintenance of mechanical components. This first inspection is included in the Contract Price and is performed at no charge.
  • Thereafter, the customer is responsible for scheduling annual inspections with CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS. A standard annual service fee applies to each subsequent inspection.

Warranty ExclusionsThis Limited Warranty issued by CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS does not cover any condition, malfunction, or damage not arising from a defect in materials or workmanship. Excluded are, without limitation:

  • Normal wear and tear; improper installation by the client or third parties; inadequate maintenance; misuse; abuse; negligence; accidents; or unauthorized alterations or modifications.
  • Accessories, connected materials, or products not manufactured or supplied by CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS.
  • Normal weathering, chalking, fading, or damage caused by corrosive atmospheres containing chemical fumes or salt; Acts of God; natural disasters; explosions; or any circumstances beyond the control of CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS.
  • Any assurance of complete weather-tightness or resistance to aggressive environmental conditions, including but not limited to dark streaking or black staining on beams and louvers.

To avoid voiding coverage, owners must follow the Care and Maintenance Instructions provided by CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS. In preparation for any named storm or severe weather event, all louvers must be positioned to the 90-degree open state, any retractable roofs must be fully opened, and any zip screens must be rolled up to reduce excessive force on the structure. Failure to implement these precautions may void this Limited Warranty.

If a product or component is discontinued, CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS may substitute a component of comparable function, quality, or price to maintain the expected standard of CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS.

Warranty Claim ProcedureTo initiate a warranty claim, the purchaser must notify CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS within thirty (30) days after discovering a potential defect. Each claim must include, at minimum:

  • A copy of the sales agreement/contract or proof of purchase; and
  • A detailed written description of the defect (supporting photos or video are encouraged).

CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the product before any repair work is performed. Repairs undertaken without prior inspection by CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS may, at the sole discretion of CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS, void this Limited Warranty.

Following inspection, CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS will provide a remedy within thirty (30) days of the inspection date. The remedy will be either a repair or a replacement part supplied at no charge for the component itself. Under no circumstances will the liability of CALIFORNIA PERGOLA SYSTEMS exceed the original purchase price of the product, including installation.
